New York Fashion Week
New York, New York, New York! What an experience it was to attend fashion week for the very first time. Since launching my blog a little over a year ago, I always envisioned myself attending this fashion event that takes place two times a year in New York. What I didn’t anticipate was going just one year after the launch of my blog.
I was fortunate enough to be invited by my dear Liberian sister Korto Momolu (here) to attend her show for #nyfw2019. When I made the decision to go, the birth of my New York fashion week journey begin. Let me just start by saying I knew absolutely nothing about anything.
My first thought was to immediately start reaching out to PR agency that represented the designers I loved and admired in hopes of getting invitations to their shows. A few of them got back to me thank God! (lol) However, with my amazing sense of style I was certain I would get into shows with no problem.
It was a gamble but I was willing to take it because I had absolutely nothing to loose but everything to gain. In preparation for my trip to New York, I created eight looks total. I wanted to SERVE FOR THE CHILDREN DARLINGS and when I tell you I came to slay, I wasn’t kidding! (lol)
My looks were amazing and I styled them to the GODS! I wanted to turn heads everywhere I went so all my looks were SUPER EXTRA, SUPER BOLD, SUPER FIERCE! I was so inspired by the show POSE on FX and the flamboyant presence of the main characters in the show so I incorporated all the fierceness into each of my looks.
I went with bold fabric choices and DARING design options. Even when I wore a simple dress with a matching blazer I paired it with gorgeous eye catching accessories to make what was simple look extraordinary. Because of my BOLD looks, I ended up on Enews (here), buzzfeed (here) and other fashion outlets just to name a few. I successfully slayed New York fashion week and honestly I cannot wait to attend New York, Paris and Milan next year.
Thank you darlings for stopping by and taking a look at all my looks from New York Fashion Week. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on the looks. Until next time darlings cheers to being DARING and taking risk.
