A Farewell To Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen’s dashing creativity was expressed through the technical artistry of his designs and the dramatic intensity of his fashion shows.

When Alexander McQueen passed away I was heartbroken. He was such a talented designer and i truly loved his work. His love for High Couture and avant-garde fashion was incredibly artistic in my opinion.

McQueen fearlessly challenged the conventions of fashion. Rare among designers, he saw beyond clothing’s physical constraints to its conceptual and imaginative possibilities.

Celebrating the extraordinary creative talent of one of the most innovative designers of recent times, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty was the first and largest retrospective of McQueen’s work to be presented in Europe and I was not going to miss It. To honor this artistic soul I went to see this brilliant exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

I designed this Fabulous, fitting dress with dramatic yet romantic sleeve to replicate McQueen’s romantic sensibility which propelled his creativity and advanced his fashion in directions both unimagined and unprecedented. His individualistic and defiant vision was augmented by an acute sense of time and place, and a preoccupation with the exotic and the untamed. Filtered through a powerful modernity McQueen’s work was, above all, driven by his fascination with the beauty and savagery of the natural world.

Alexander McQueen may be gone physically but his work and the contributions he made to the fashion industry and his ability to think beyond the surface will never be forgotten. He was an incredible artist and truly when I think of his work am speechless! It was such an honor and privilege for me to see his work exhibited so beautifully in London.

McQueen’s spectacular catwalk presentations unleashed powerful feelings as compelling sources of aesthetic experience. He was one of a kind a true visionary who will be truly missed but never forgotten.
